MOUNTAINVIEWERS COMPLETE MOURNES 7X7S
Just the briefest note on the Mournes 7X7s Challenge Walk, Saturday past. A few toughies from mviews competed – although bizarrely only some of us met up – ie we knew we were there but who were we? To-Be-Addressed perhaps for future events.
What the writer does know (and would welcome more knowledge) is that mviewers roberto and myself clocked good times esp given this was the former’s first challenge walk (v well done) and also splendidly, long-time contributor and mviews committee big-wig Jackill, against all his demons, completed the challenge in good shape and a fine first 7X7s time. Badge for the bag and certificate for the newly painted hall wall? Thanks also to mviewers dhmiriam and scotchie for travelling up to cheer us on. Also attending was mviews sniper, maclimber – cranky knee got him in the end but still, I believe, an impressive finishing time.
Further also – onlooking mviewer seannickell smashed his 6 hours target. Blistering and fantastic!
For anyone thinking they might be able to knock this Challenge Walk into a cocked hat, note that the winning runner time was flagged at under 4 hours. Brisk.
