Camping available Wicklow Hiker/Eco
Hello,
A keen walking friend sent me a link to this site because she noticed SeamusO's query about a friendly farmer in Wicklow for camping. We've emailed Seamus but in case anyone else is interested....hopefully this won't be seen as an unsolicited ad and deleted, but rather an answer to a query. Our outlook is not-for-profit.
We are beginners as small scale organic farmers in on a wee mountain, Carraig, (nr. Ashford/Gleneally/Moneystown) Co. Wicklow. We also do some training, family days, volunteering etc as we hope to develop our place Carraig Dúlra as a eco centre, retaining skills, and a disappearing way of life. We're trying to focus on appreciation for our part in the natural world.

We offer hiker only (no cars) camping for periods under ten days. We can pick up from bus and train by arrangement. So far we have an out door kitchen, fire pits, compost loo and water from barrels. We charge 10 euro per night with opportunities for barter/volunteering etc.

If you are interested you might like to check out our website
dulra.org.

Lackakeely: An easy bag after Mweelrea
magnumpig a day ago.
Mweelrea is a sweaty old climb (for me anyways) and if, like me, you feel that climbing it deserves bagging more than one peak, you should visit Lackaleely. Basically it's a small rise overlooking...

No excuse not to come over here for a peek if you are at Truskmore, so that's what we did and it's worth it for the extra view.
