"The ultimate walker
Picture: The ultimate walker's accessory (Contract pics)
Get fit in the countryside
We are told that getting exercise in the outdoors is good for us. But who wants the ‘joys’ of a hard slog up a mountain and not to mention rain, wind and bogs? For all those want-to-be walkers who don’t want to walk we have found the ideal piece of mountaineering equipment – the outdoor treadmill. This excellent example was spotted today in the Wicklow’s on the way up Seahan. One careless (and thoughtless) owner who saw in their wisdom to recycle (dump) the said treadmill in the great outdoors so that others can benefit from its use (if only we can find a portable electric generator to power it).

15/05/2019 We used the route from the SW. Apart from being steep it is an excellent route and gives fine views of King's Fort which we visited on descent . Delightful at bluebell time.

Visited Croaghmoyle on Wed 12th, plodded up the mast access road in very windy conditions to be greeted by a burnt out Fiesta. Great views from here in all directions if you ignore the Fiesta.
