Protecting your car in Wicklow
The problem of smash and grabbers in Wicklow is sadly a common one. It is also happening elsewhere around the country regularly. What easier target than a lonely carpark where the owners are clearly off rambling for several hours? The old advice of keeping valuables out of sight is hardly relevent now - they will gain access and rifle through glove boxes, boots and under seats looking for hidden treasure.

The best thing is to not leave anything in the car that you don't want to lose. Easier said than done as we can't lug everything with us up the hill either. Actually the best thing is for someone to get the evidence needed to nail the sneaky ba**tards. I wonder how many detections or convictions for these crimes have been possible?

The chicken wire plan sounds good jackill - maybe it could be electrified too?
Another solution is to make your car invisible as above. There might be a business in selling car camoflague kits!

The most direct approach is to park at small lay-by (1-2 cars) at L91270 65070 and proceed directly up steep slope in SE direction. Terrain is short grass mostly, and was solid underfoot in late M...
