"Pico del Teide, Tenerife" from simon3 Contract pics
Picture: Pico del Teide, Tenerife (Contract pics)

Teide
Pico del Teide at 3718m is the highest point not only in Tenerife but also in Spain.

The vast lava field in the foreground is from an eruption that occured around 1798 from the neighbouring Pico Viejo.

Although Teide has been dormant since the middle ages its summit vents sulphur and sulphur dioxide.

A great climb!
