Photos and Mass Debaters
A mass debate on photos ...What could be more edifying? Please allow these good people to continue their exchanges. I will not sit in judgment on their foibles, tsunami. We are all sinners in the equipment department to some extent . I am sympathetic to Weedavie's point of view that the moment may be lost in the very act of the photographer seeking to preserve it: vis the burly cameraman who pushes forward and flashes as the couple murmur "we do". At least we don't video funerals...yet..I have taken a stand against those plastic bladders out of which we are supposed to suck water. But , because of my wonky knees and bad back, I see the purpose of walking poles. We must not discharge babies with bathwater. Let us be discerning. But Bleck is correct. What is essential is invisible to the eye. We murder to dissect. P.S. Speaking of equipment, I will be asking the Trekkers Music Sub Committee to adopt Kirsty MacColl's.. "In these shoes-I Don't Think so" as our anthem. I am sick to the back teeth of "High on the hills is a lonely goat..."PPS tsunami...the plural of e-mail is e-mail...Please....

Mangerton North Top: On the way to Mangerton
MountainHunter a day ago.
I started at Point A car park and followed the path. At about 520m (-9.4817 51.9882) the path swings westward, as you walk along the path, the coum for the Devil's Punchbowl comes into view. After...

Knockalongy South-West Top: Beware of the barrier
madfrankie a day ago.
We followed sandman's route to the summit which is probably the best way to explore Knockalongy and its satellites. Gentle gradients but many eroded peat hags. Worth noting that the forest barrier...

The summit is unremarkable though easy to spot as it lies along the fence.

Caherbarnagh East Top: An easy stroll from Caherbarnagh.
David-Guenot a week ago.
There is a gate to cross when coming down from the cairn at the NE end of the main Caherbarnagh ridge (I found it was actually easier to cross the fence just right of the gate). There is a faint t...
