Maumean advice
Forgive me for asking a question rather than adding a comment. Please advise as how to best approach the top of Maumean and perhaps go forward with a walk across the ride for some beginners. We've dabbled in some of the hills in the area but are inexperienced and decided to stop at the chapel the last time at Maumeen as the ascent seemed too difficult as per the Paddy Dillon route in the Rambler's guide. Read that zigzagging the ascent once past the holy well gets you on top of the ridge easily. Any advice or comments greatly appreciated. We spend a week in Connemara each year and this website really makes it seem possible to reach a summit even for beginners. Thanks for any advice...
