Message for Simon
I went out of my way to "bag" that minor lump known as OTT MOUNTAIN on the Western Mournes today only to discover that it ain't listed on this site. Its no more or less separate from its peers than most of the rest. It appears to be 500 plus metres above sea level. So how come its not on the list ? Its enough to drive one to drink.******Satisfy your cravings with the odd Ott : from Vertigo Industries--http://www.domaines-ott.com/en/homepage/index.php...PS Welcome Buny Clare...Does Buny rhyme with Runny, or with Puny? Just curious...Buny, take no offence. I am in shocking bad form.Tomorrow I return to the abominable Day Job...23 years of torture. I didn't have the courage to follow my natural talent and become a Professional HillWalker. But enough of me...Meanwhile we have chosen our theme song after a bitter five hour meeting: "Do you know the way to San Jose?" Seems the good San Jose folk are bursting themselves to make a continuous trail from San Francisco... I have resigned from the Sub-Committee (http://www.sanjoseca.gov/prns/trailmap%20info%200703.htm)

Slieveboy: Default hill
scannerman 3 hours ago.
I've forgotten how many times I've gone up this hill, must be over 50. I live relatively close so its the easy option when larger 'expeditions' are a non starter. It has a very decent balcony walk...

Sugarloaf Hill: Easy access and log book to sign
ilenia 15 hours ago.
Sugarloaf Hill is usually climbed from Bay Lough Car Park, S03056 09981, ample parking there. Cross the road and follow the wall and the eroded path all the way up, it's steep enough but you'll re...

Just sometimes and just for a short while a damp forest can show a misty fairy side. And so it was one January day after a heavy raincloud had passed and the sun had majicked this sprite into the ...

Slieve Beg: Southern plunge

The famous side of Slieve Beg is the NE, gashed by the Devils Coachroad. However the SE side also has its drama.Taken on a frosty slippy day from Cove.

Dromderalough NE Top: Odd-looking formations
Colin Murphy 3 days ago.
On my approach to the summit I came across a large field of hundreds of these rather striking formations, which I think are are moss-covered boulders, but which looked like giant green ant-hills o...

My final Vandeleur-Lynam! Unfortunately No. 273 wasn't the most distinctive summit (when I came off Mangerton I couldn't even pick it out on the landscape) , but the views from the top are tremend...

Dromderalough NE Top: Long route from the south.
Collaborative entry Last edit by: Colin Murphy 3 days ago.
Not normally done in isolation, this top usually forms part of a walk involving Dromderalough itself or Mangerton. One approach is from the north, which has the advantage of a gently rising track ...
