Diamond Hill Connemara
Last thursday (December 1 - sunny all day and good visibility) we started to climb Diamond Hill from Connemara National Park Visitor Centre using a Joss Lynam guide book. Half way up we encountered a newly laid granite path up to the summit. Followed this along the ridge down the other side and in a loop back to the path we had started on. At this point there was a temporary fence about 25 yards long at right angles to the path. Rounding this we saw a notice saying 'Danger. No entry'. Lucky we hadn't encountered this on the way up. Don't know why it was there. The path appeared to be finished and is an amazing piece of work. Congratulations to whoever made it.

Three of us climbed this. My nephew cooled off in Roads Lough on the way up. The weather was nearly perfect. It was steep but manageable. This is my first entry on MV.
