Google Earth
Simon, Thanks for putting us onto Google Earth which is a superb facility. Once you get the hang of the controls you can "fly" over much loved ranges and visualise all aspects of an intended route. Admittedly the level of graphics is relatively crude but clearly the potential for the future is extraordinary. Certain areas are shown in high resolution... the eastern side of Achill island, for example. It is simply stunning to swoop in low past parked cars, bridges etc. Well done Google.
