Re Comments
This issue of how comments are rated has exercised me for quite a while, and now Conor's query has finally moved me to post! It would be interesting to see what criteria people here use to rate the comments. Too often they seem to be rated like a photography competition (and Simon, I think your posting below betrays a bit of that!), and the prettiest photos are elevated above comments that may have a poor or no photo, but are certainly more "Useful" in the sense that they have details on grid references, parking spots, etc etc. Mountainviews wouldn't be Mountainviews without the photos, and I always try and get a half-decent shot to add to my comments, but if we're really being asked to grade "Usefulness", then I'll continue to place more emphasis on the text than the photo, unless of course the photo is illustrating a particularly pertinent piece of information from the text!

Aidand's directions are spot on. The road that looks like an entrance to a house actually leads into a forest, it is rough but manageable if you drive very slow. I drove as far as an old abandoned...

You can start at Ballaghisheen, a mountain pass V671 792. Space here for 3-4 cars. Ballaghisheen is at just over 300m so the climb to the top at around 551m is not a great strain. There is a sign ...
