Mid Hill to Collin Top and beyond?
Thanks for shedding some light on the Red Sea for me Slemish. You are right about the remoteness - have ran loads in Glenariff area and you meet loads of folk (not always a bad thing) The isolation in that area is refreshing. Was up there on Friday evening running with a friend and he would like to run on over Collin Top and then down into Waterfoot. Any advice on terrain in that area and also most scenic/safest route. I noticed on the OS map an area marked as 'dangerous' presumably due to marshy area? Would like to avoid Glenariff Forest if poss.

PS Can vouch for the wetness of Red Sea as I ended with one leg in mud up to my thigh on Friday evening!! To the great delight of my fell running buddy.

This is a picture of Buckaun East taken from the valley below.. Obviously the safest way to go up and down this is to the left or south of the ridge.
