Clare Island
by sandman  20 Nov 2017
This island is located in County Clare but can only be accessed via County Galway. Originally connected to Clare but the connection was lost in 1755 as a result of an earthquake The British built the existing 0.80 km causeway from Galway to service their troops in the Martello Tower in 1811. Access to the highest point may not be inaccessible but it would prove one big challenge ,as the natural high point on the island seemingly was made into a decorative garden feature, so i do not think the occupants of the house would be too keen to see members of MV walking thru their shrubs. You can park adjacent to the house at M2789913039 starA.
