Interesting island for a stroll.
by simon3  3 Jul 2024
We visited Dalkey Island in July, 2024.

Trips from "Ken the Ferryman" (actually operated by his son Niall) were not available on two previous occasions due to high winds.

Much of the north and east island foreshore is forbidden during the summer on grounds of disturbing birds. The points of interest, as mentioned previously, include the Martello Tower (not enterable), the Church (visitable) and the Battery (visitable).

There are various paths around through long grass which the goats were eating. And then there are views of the Muglins, and coastal spots such as Killiney Hill. Linkback: https://mountainviews.ie/summit/2330/comment/24230/
