As you cross the bridge to the island you will notice a sign which is the starting point of the Inishnee Looped Walk and although the walk does not include the summit area parking here is freely available . On the other hand if you just wish to bag the summit drive to T'Rawer (L73833 38608) the end of the surface road. Walking now to the end of an overgrown stone tract turn right thru a wooden gate followed by a small second gate out towards the summit area being aware that you have entered farm land. Wonderful scenery

Just before you hit Roundstone off the R341 Road and accessed via the small bridge, there is a turn signposted Inis Ní, and here you will find a terrific walking trail that loops around this small island. A trail that is a maze of narrow roads and lanes now linked up through the Inis Ní Looped Walk. It's a total gem in terms of scenery and tranquillity. Lots to revel in along the way but pay special attention for the ruined early medieval oratory dedicated to St Mathias. Not so much remains of the edifice today, but for location, those early Christian monks chose one of the most scenic parts of Ireland to erect their oratory. Nearby Roundstone is the ideal place to relax and unwind. Linkback: mountainviews.ie/island/2292/comment/19829/
