Such places are really beyond description but I will try and sum up the splendour that is Inishkea North Island. It's been deserted since the 1930s and there are many houses slowly being succumbed by the sands of time. It's a flat island to walk but one that is littered with historical sites, some over 4000-years-old. There are also numerous early Christian cross slabs from the 7th to the 8th centuries. it's a captivating place to visit and special thanks to Barry Murphy of Tourism Pure Walking Holidays.
