mcrtchly: Track 2898 in area near Faill an tSáis, Brandon Group (Ireland)
A circuit of the Brandon Group
Length: 39.2km, Creator time taken: 53h 1m, Ascent: 1931m,
Descent: 1938m

Places: Start at Q51033 11507, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1
This route covers most of the summits of the Brandon Group (except the two along the Faha Ridge). It is a long route which could conceivably be done in a day with light packs. However, we wished to test out our camping and other equipment prior to some wilderness trekking overseas later this summer, whilst at the same time videoing the route, hence we camped out for two nights along the way and the time we took is reflected in our desire to wild camp and wait for the right light conditions etc. For details of our 3-day trek and wild camping see http://kernowclimber.blogspot.ie/2015/04/trekking-and-wild-camping-in-brandon.html
Video to be released shortly...

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 11h 3m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
