Peter Walker: Track 2466 in area near Mourne Mountains (Ireland)
Length: 2.2km, Creator time taken: 38m23s, Ascent: 197m,
Descent: 61m

Places: Start at J27414 43028, Slievenaboley, end at Start
Logged as completed by 1
'An ascent of Slievenaboley' rather than 'The Ascent of Slievenaboley'. Mr Goodman describes it as nice and easy, and it probably is, but when his eminently straightforward sounding route is tackled by an English bloke in a bit of a hurry who's never been one to let '30 years of experience' win out over 'the sort of bloodthirsty impatience and enthusiasm that both won us and lost us an Empire' you can bet that he'll manage to find thick brambles and quaking bog even if no-one else can.

Oh, and 197m of ascent seems out by a factor of about three...I mean, my routefinding was useless but not THAT useless.

To download GPS tracks you must be enrolled and logged in. See "Login or enrol", top right - quick and easy.

Note: ALL information such as Ascent, Length and Creator time taken etc should be regarded as approximate. The creator's comments are opinions and may not be accurate or still correct.
Your time to complete will depend on your speed plus break time and your mode of transport. For walkers: Naismith's rule, a rough and often inaccurate estimate, suggests a time of 0h 46m + time stopped for breaks
Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
