Since hearing about this fascinating monument, I was intrigued as to its location and provenance. It is located a short distance off the Wicklow Gap to Blessington road. There is parking available at the track entrance.

It is only a short walk directly to the old cottage and on to the monument. I decided to track up onto the opposite bank of the stream to get some photos, but the weather would not assist.

Well worth spending a pleasant hour exploring this historic obelisk.

Note: It is up to you to ensure that your route is appropriate for you and your party to follow bearing in mind all factors such as safety, weather conditions, experience and access permission.
