One of the easiest summits listed on Mountain Views, but also possibly the most expensive. It's easy to see where all the money goes. You will have no trouble finding Geokaun. Whether you approach Valencia Island from the bridge at Portmagee or by ferry from Reenard, every road junction has a sign to point you in the right direction. When you arrive at the security camera controlled entrance you pay your €5 at the machine and get a ticket. Don't worry, there's another machine here that gives change. At this point you can park up and get tea and snacks, or maybe save that for later. Driving up the track takes you to the first car park where a 2 min walk brings you to Fogher Cliffs. Not quite the Cliffs of Moher Experience, but nice nonetheless. No chance of any Skellig Michael type fatalities here what with all the steel barriers erected for your safety. Onwards up to car park no. 2 where there is a collection of information boards and views West towards Bray Head. There are 30 odd of these information boards dotted around the place. Finally upwards to the last car park where you are quite literally a stone's throw from the summit. At 266m I reckon that makes this €1.88 per 100m, compared to Carrauntoohil (€2 at Cronin's Yard) whose 1039m works out at €0.19 per 100m. And they have showers.
