We tackled Carrigalachan from the same start point we used for Bran Scultar (S 809 410(Point A)), and followed the forest track up to the col between Carrigalachan and Caher Roe's Den. We turned left and headed up towards the summit, handrailing the forest to the left. Some damage from quad bikes is evident, but nothing too severe. There are some great views of Caher Roe's Den and Blackstairs on the way up, and more great views of Brandon and Bran Scultar near the summit.

After taking in Bran Scultair and Carrigroe, I finshed my afternoons walk here. A walk from the Scullogue Gap over Blackstairs Mountain, Caher Roe's Den, Carrigalachan, Carrigroe, and on to Bran Scultair would be highly recommended. The views are amazing given the Blackstairs isolation from other peaks, and the ground is excellent. The path does give out for a bit on the col between Carrigroe and Carrigalachan but is not a problem. (Comment Rating 3.00)
