Have climbed to and walked Garraunbaun (Beaugh) a few times. The last time was in late june 09 in the late evening as the sun set but in that midsummer glow that lasts all night. I approached from a forestry road off Bohernaphuca.Turn right at Kennys Shop in Roscomroe as one approaches from Roscrea heading for Kinnity to find Bohernaphuca. Park at the forestry gate and this lane heads quite close to the summit. Just keep to the left about a mile in rather then going straight ahead, the road rises. Access to the summit is via a gate through the bog/turf and head for the Aerial. I agree with Wicklore that the summit is now probably the mound of bog near the aerial. I know the area and the decent people who own the 'quarry' of fine old sandstone and have longstanding permission to ramble there. The mountain is known locally as Beaugh and heading for Farbreague is another 'summit' called Stook locally. I haven't climbed either Stook or Farbreague yet. My friend and I enjoyed nice views of the surrounding country side and street lights of distant towns Birr, Roscrea, Cloughjordan even the power station at Shannonbridge could be seen. In the daytime, on a clear day, the Slieve Aughty's, Devil's Bit are plain to be seen. I don't have a photo of this easily accessed peaceful old gem but will post one again.
