Head above the crowd.
by simon3  10 Jun 2012 South of the main Wicklow summits are a number of smaller tops poking their heads above the South Wicklow/ Wexford plains.
Even if you been to all of the summits it's tricky to remember which is which. If you are looking for at least one distinctively recognisable in the crowd, then such is this summit because of its distinctive triangular shape and the plethora of telecoms towers on it. It's very identifiable from many of the South Wicklow/ North Wexford hills.
Slieveboy is 34.6km from Lugnaquillia from where this was taken and is central in the picture. The nearer summit is part of Ballycumber Hill around 19km away from Lugnaquillia. The picture was taken late October one year on a relatively clear day, though the fine mist did somewhat leach the colour out of the view.
