This name is not mentioned by An Seabhac in TCCD. It is unclear what the second element is. Knocknakilton is the 727th highest summit in Ireland. Knocknakilton is the most easterly summit in the Central Dingle area.

by lackmt 9 Aug 2012 So first thing to note about Knocknakilton is it is covered in a mist more times than not, I needed to walk it so I could figure out a route and it took a couple of attempts. I walked it by turning off at the crossroads on the N86 go up a small road to a crossroads (park up). Then take the right into the woods.

It is tricky to figure out which route. Here is what I suggest, follow the zig zag do not take the right into the woods. Take the next right. Follow that zig zag you come to a Y jct take the left. Then keep going straight up (the whole thing should not take more than an hour). If you hit the radio tower (I advise you not to get to close) you took the wrong turn.

If you keep going straight you will hit a gate that leads directly into the bog. Turn right (be careful of the ditch) and walk to the fense. Travel along that till you reach the peak. You will be surprised how quick it gets covered in a mist.
