One way of accessing this summit is from the forest entrance at S13175 06653. Walk up the track until you come to a junction. Turn left at this and walk to around S13960621. Then head SW into a ride aiming for S1378206093 (215m at 241 degrees) where you go south along a ride to S1379905992 and then right to the summit.
The top is in a ride with not-so-great views and no cairn.
Still the name if not the mountain has a claim to fame: Knocknasheega was the mythical name of King Brian of the Leprechaun's hill in "Darby O'Gill and the Little People" a 1959 Hollywood oirish film starring Albert Sharpe, and would you believe it, Sean Connery. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0052722 E/maindetails Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/700/comment/4658/
