Called after the Marquess of Anglesea, who till the middle of the last century [i.e. 19th century] owned it. [Stubbs] Anglesey Mountain is the 702nd highest summit in Ireland.

A new dumping ground!!

by dmcdevitt 31 Oct 2011 Approached Anglesey from Clermont Cairn and followed the l shaped track that starts at the T junction before going up to the television masks. The gorse fires in early summer has made walking easy but has highlighted how much people actually dump and dispose of rubbish as you can see it easily across the landscape. This track is covered with rubbish, especially with beer tins and vodka bottles, must of walked along this L shape track for 500-600 meters and it was continually littered with rubbish. At the end of the L shaped, track you will meet a fence that runs between Anglesey and Clermont mountain, keep to the left of the fence as you will find a small track created by motor bikers. This will lead to to the summit. Over all this is a very short walk which should take about an hour.
