A worthwhile diversion on a fine day.
Short Summary created by jackill  21 Jan 2013 Park on the the roadside around S251 187 (Point A)), just before a cattle grid.Room for 3 cars.
Head west towards the mountain first on a muddy farm track and then up a small rise and across gently sloped, heather-covered, featureless ground to the summit of Laghtnafrankee.
Drop south west off the summit aiming for S22348 17342 (Point B) a rough stile to help cross a fence which might otherwise prove difficult before the final pull to the summit of Laghtnafrankee SW Top.

by csd  22 Jun 2008 If you're coming from the main Laghtnafrankee top, aiming for S22348 17342 (Point B) will bring you to a crude stile to help cross a fence that would otherwise block your way. The fence follows the path of the track shown running between the Glenary river valley and Glendalough on my Preliminary Edition Sheet 75, though there's no actual track to be found! It's a quick enough (1.9km) trot over from the main summit, and well worth it: the views are almost as good as from the higher peak, and you get a nice perspective on Laghtnafrankee itself.
Point B: S22348 17342 (turn area map On)
