A good viewpoint on a clear day
Short Summary created by jackill  30 Jul 2012 Park at Ballyduff graveyard, Q54076 10104 (Point A), room for 10 cars.Walk uphill on a lane past an unoccupied farmhouse on your right and taking the right fork in the lane. At Q54043 094094 (Point B) go through a gate crossing farmland for a few hundred meters before crossing sheepwire and onto open mountain. Stay on the crest of the ridge all the way to the summit of Beenbo. Cross from there east to Slievenagower then descend towards Loch an Duin crossing a stream before the final climb to An Starraicín

Who is this smiling man?
by jackill  11 Jun 2011 Way back in April 2010 I was sworn to secrecy by this man. Why you may ask. Well he doesn't know the third secret of Fatima and he didn't help America fake the moon landings. His name is Adrian Hendroff and he had invited me on a walk that was to feature in his book "The Dingle, Iveragh & Beara Peninsulas : A Walking Guide"( in the shops now by the way).It featured a quartet of sub 500 meter summits east of Dingle and to tell the truth I wasn't expecting much. Oh was I wrong. Magnificent, distinctive peaks seldom seen and seldom mentioned bypassed for their more famous neighbours. If you get here on a clear day you will be the happiest hillwalker in Ireland.
The cover of Adrians book has another photograph taken on this route, I'm not a bit sore that it features MV member dbloke more prominently than me!

by reidyden  4 Nov 2008 On Sun 03 Nov did a nice circular route of peaks around L.Iarthair and L. Mean E of Conor Pass including An Starraicin. There was spectacular view northwards and there looked like an interesting ascent up the spur Loch an Duinand and back down over Sli na gCorr

Diminutive yet shapely
by ciarraioch  16 May 2012 A surprisingly tedious trudge west from the saddle with Sliabh na nGabhar brings you to the diminutive but shapely peak of An Starraicín/Slievenalecka. Great views onto Loch a' Dúin to the right and Loch Chom Colláin to the left and across onto Brandon.
