A northern buttress of the Derryveagh Mountains
Short Summary created by Peter Walker  20 Jun 2012 Crockballaghgeeha is one of numerous tops acting as potential footnotes/aperatifs to walks around the Poisoned Glen in the Derryveagh mountains. Being both rugged and quite convenient, it's well worth including in such trips.

Start from the minor road just past the ruined Dunlewy Church 930189 (Point A), following the path leading up the true right bank of the Croananiv Burn. Maintain this course once the path peters out, turning left at the obvious bend in the glen at 942170 (Point B), keeping alongside the stream on vague hints of trod. Leave the stream at 948172 (Point C), making your own way through the outcrops studding the spur of Crockballaghgeeha to the east. The summit is pleasantly stubbled with rocks and has fine views of Errigal, Dunlewy Lough and the northern ramparts of Slieve Snaght: the walk from here to the latter is an excellent traverse of complex mountain terrain.
Point A: B930 189 Point B: B942 170 Point C: B948 172
