This peak is on a spur extending between Glendossaun and Glenafelly.   Carroll's Hill is the 511th highest summit in Ireland.

Wet as wet can be
Short Summary created by jackill  5 Feb 2013 Park in a Coillte carpark at Glenafelly N20188 01254 (Point A) room for 10 cars.
Go over the barrier and follow the track to N21660 01240 (Point B) where you go left then left again back down the far side of the Glen.
At N20720 01671 (Point C) take the right hand track and make your way to open hillside at N 21744 01735 (Point D). Then it's a boggy rutted crossing to the summit cairn.

New Comment Slieve Bloom Gloom!
by eamonoc  1 Jun 2013 Parked at Glendine Gap, decided to link Barcam and Carroll`s hill as a quick leg stretch in the SlieveBlooms. Leg stretch it was! a tortuous 1hr trek over boggy heathery ground to Carroll`s Hill the only consolation being the weather, it was beautiful. The broad ridge to Carroll`s hill was surprisingly dry in places. This route is best kept for a really dry or frosty day, or find a shorter less arduous route up.

by csd  4 Jan 2009 I parked at Glendine Gap and headed first for Barcam, before heading NE to turn left onto the ridge formed by Carroll's Hill. Not quite as clear a day as peterturner had, but nice views nonetheless, especially to the SW over to Mauherslieve. Not much in the way of paths or tracks up here, so you'll get a good workout lifting your legs over the heather. I had the advantage of frozen ground; this would be a pretty miserable trek if it got any wetter underfoot. Another rounded, boggy Slieve Blooms summit ticked off the list!

by peterturner  23 Mar 2008 I climbed Carrolls Hill from the spine of the Slieve Blooms so challenge was low, however the weather was beautiful that day and looking down into Glendossaun and Barcam valleys is quite a view. It was part of a six hour walk that I made that day and I never saw or passed a soul despite being the weekend.
