by motherofdivineja  29 Oct 2007 This is very easy...we did it as the sun was setting (we had to abandon Mount Leinster because of mist,) a good place to start if you are just starting to hill walk. Otherwise not much of a challenge!

by mneary34  29 Nov 2004 This is a view of Slievebawn from near the top of Mount Leinster. The walk from The Nine Stones is from the right of the ridge in the photo. The flat terrain of south Leinster province can be seen in the distance.

by csd  4 Apr 2004 Slievebawn is a very short stroll up from the car park at the 380m contour, which means the mountain itself is only 140m higher. Nice views of Mt Leinster and the eastern side of Blackstairs Mountain (shown in this picture).

Picture: Cairn summit Slievebawn
by Colin Murphy  27 Aug 2007 Does this qualify as the easiest summit in Ireland? Took 30 minutes up and down and near the summit met a couple with what looked like a six year old boy on the way up! Perfect if you want to take the kids for a picnic but no challenge at all, though does offer some nice views.

Picture: Summit cairn of Slievebawn

by murphysw  24 Sep 2005 After returning to the car park from Mt. Leinster, I decided to do this one as the weather had thwarted my plans to do other peaks in the Blackstairs that day, and I wanted a second peak from my days rambles in this range. It really is nothing, 15 minutes on a rough path up a gentle slope to the summit cairn. The heavy mist obscured the views but it did shift for a fleeting second and the glimpse I got was fairly breathtaking alright.

by katekat  6 Mar 2007 For the first I want to write there is nothing about a challenge on this summit. There is very wide and comfortable path leading to the top so I can recommend it to families. It is very short and easy stroll up. We climbed up together with my boyfriend in very windy weather accompanying with a heavy rain so it was like a challenge for us.The walk starts behind the Nine Stones car park. You can take there the road from Myshall, what is very nice and narrow road just for one car. On your right will be a nice view piont with a car park from where you can see your next goal and Mt. Leinster. Then go down and on the T-crossroad turn right and continue up the car park of the Nine Stones.
