Bedrock type: Conglomerate & purple sandstone, (Slievenamuck Conglomerate Formation)

The association with Fionn Mac Cumhaill is reinforced by the fact that Seefin Mountain overlooks a valley named after his son: Glenosheen (Ir. Gleann Oisín, 'valley of Oisín').   Seefin Mountain W Top is the highest mountain in the Ballyhoura Mountains area and the 478th highest in Ireland.

Followed becketts route up. The track is initially excellent, good enough for a car actually. Near Long mountain it narrows.
