The Irish and English names are unrelated. Pigeon Rock is a crag overlooking the road from Kilkeel to Hilltown.   Pigeon Rock Mountain is the 462nd highest summit in Ireland.

We approached the summit from Slievenaman Rd at 271 253 A, picking up the wall which we followed to the summit after a 25 minute slog in the heat. I agree with MadFrankie -- it's a rather unremarkable summit, but on a day like today it all seemed worth it, with some lovely views over to the Spelga Dam reservoir.
