The name Maumean / Mám Éan in this location seems open to some doubt. It ought to refer to a col rather than a peak, but it is not mentioned by Tim Robinson either on his map or in the gazetteer, and since there is a Mám Éan about 6km further to the SW, there seems reason to suspect a confusion with this name.   Cnoc na hUilleann North Top is the 442nd highest place in Ireland.

Maumean is another of the heights in the third quarter(going south to North) of the Maamturks ridge walk. A substantial bearing change is required at this point heading from Cnoc na hUilleann to Binn Bhriocain. As is typical for much of this area the map needs to be studied beforehand to be aware of the very steep sides of the ridge walk. Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/373/comment/1409/
