Harry Goodman on Corrig Mountain, 2010
by Harry Goodman  4 Apr 2010
For start of my walk to Corrig Mountain on 6 Mar 2010 see my comments on Seahan. The walk down to the coll and then up to Corrig Mountain is boggy but very straightforward. As I had not climbed it before I decided to combine it with a walk over Seahan. It is about 1k from Seahan to Corrig and once there rather than retrace my steps as planned I decided to continue on and complete the full Circuit of Kilbride with a walk to Seefingan and Seefin to the S, two tops that I had previously climbed. Without doubt Corrig Mountain is very much the poor relation of the four tops around Kilbride. The other three all have fine megalithic cairns on or near their high points while poor old Corrig has a flat top with small cement boundary markers indicating the edge of the Kilbride Firing Range. This therefore is a mountain which I feel would best be climbed as part of a greater circuit, in my case around Kilbride, or as part of a walk to Seahan. From the top the views S are restricted by Kippure and Seefingan but Dublin to the NE is clearly visable. Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/247/comment/4577/
