Short Summary created by Harry Goodman 22 Nov 2011
For a direct climb of this hill go left off the R251 at B908 205(Point A) and find a suitable parking place off road. Walk down the road and cross the bridge between Dunlewy Lough and Lough Nacung Upper. Follow the road S and then SW to cross over the Stuhannameel (stream) B902 189(Point B). Leave the road and ascend up the hillside SW to Pt. 352, B896 179(Point C). Continue up S, passing around tiny L. Croreagh and on up to Pt 455, B896 170(Point D) and then 200m further along Pt 471, B896 168(Point E). Once there go SW for 500m to the top B89230 16636(Point F). From the bridge between the two loughs it is some 7k out and back. It is also possible to extend the route and take in Crocknafarragh SE Top and Crocknafarragh. Out and back adds just over over 3k to the walk.

An excellent vantage point
by Harry Goodman 12 Aug 2010
I climbed this hill on 10 August as part of a round of five tops which I had not previously visited. My approach was from Crocknafarragh SE Top B8842416451(Point G) (see report on this hill for earlier part of route). The going was easy and after crossing the saddle I was soon up at the stone coverd summit area marked by a very large boulder bedecked by a small cairn of stones B8923016636(Point F). I had fine views NW across Lough Nacung toTievealehid and N to the fine cone of Errigal. SE across L Atirrive Little and its bigger brother L Atirrive was the formidable and dominant bulk of Slieve Snaght and other lower tops in the Derryveagh Mountains. An excellent spot to sit and simply enjoy the surroundings. From my vantage point I noticed a fine ridge running NW over Pt 471 and then more or less N down over two more spot heights that could be used for ascent and /or descent of Crockglass from a track B900189(Point H) above Dunlewy but would add that anyone considering the route would need to ensure there is no impenetrable forestry blocking the way. As for me the fifth and final hill in my round, Addernymore, beckoned and I set off in pursuit of same.
