Laragh to Glenmacnass Waterfall
by gringottsgoblin  9 Sep 2014
From McCoys in Laragh follow the Wicklow Way across the Glenmacnass River up the slope of Paddock Hill hop the stile, and continue along the track untill you reach the woods on the left. After about 500m take a small track to the left and proceed across the flat slope until you reach aother path and then turn left. Jump the stile at this gate and just proceed along the generally dry ridge path up the ridge the leads up to Scarr. Scarr is just over 640m and the views from there are excellent. As one descends keep following the well marked ridge track. After descending the summit of Scarr continue along the path until you mount one more rise. On this rise you will see a small standing stone about 100m on veer left along the less well trodden track. This will bring you down the the carpark at Glenmacnass Waterfall. The distance of this section is around 9.3km and covers a total ascent of just under 500m. At a reasonable pace this will take between 2 hours15 and 2 hours 30 min Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/210/comment/17672/
