Overlooks the Spelga Dam and the Deer's Meadow, the source of the River Bann. It is surprising to think that this river rises less than 10 miles from the coast near Newcastle, and yet it empties into the sea near Coleraine.   Slieve Muck is the 160th highest place in Ireland.

Up to and away from Slieve Muck the Wall is the constant companion. Leaving the summit heading west the ground gets steeper and at times it is best to keep 5 metres or so to the south of the wall. Spelga Dam Reservoir appears to the north west as seen in the photo although due to the low cloud we did'nt see it till we were close to the road.
