The summit of Galtymore is marked as Dawson's Table. Captain Dawson was a landowner in this area (Tipperary Directory 1889). Cf. Percy's Table on Lugnaquillia. The diarist Amhlaoibh Ó Súilleabháin (Humphrey O'Sullivan) recorded a different Irish name
