A substantial tower has been built on the summit. The spot height is given as 704m on the 1:25,000 map, but this does not square with the contours, which only go up to 680m. Spellack (speilic, ' a splintery rock') is a spur on Slieve Meelmore.   Slieve Meelmore is the 143rd highest place in Ireland.

Bleck Cra on Slieve Meelmore, 2006
by Bleck Cra  14 Jun 2006
OonaghG - have a look at my comment "Slieve Binian North Tor 05-01-10", which might help. Or possibly not. Although I'm giving it some thought for this year, I have never participated in the event proper, so there may be some restrictions on routes. Anyway, if you have as much interest in the "authorised" version as have I, you will wing out and give it a go, just for the hell of it. Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/138/comment/2406/
