We started from the Upper Car Park in Glendalough .. by dealer   (Show all for Camaderry Mountain)
Pádraig on Camaderry Mountain, 2004
by Pádraig  12 Jun 2004
I climbed Camaderry last Monday (June Bank Holiday) in beautiful sunshine. The route I chose began in the upper car park in Glendalough, which was full of people basking in the seasonal weather around the shores of the lake. As the climb progressed up past the miners village the route became less populated. Into Glenealo, herds of deer appear to keep you company. Having proceeded up the valley for sometime I turn and head towards Turlough Hill (north). This entails a steep climb over heather and bog. As you circle round towards Camaderry, you must negotiate a section of peat hags. It reminded me of a scene from the sci/fi series Blakes 7 for some reason. Anyway, you soon begin to climb once more until you reach Camaderry. In sunshine it offers a great view of the surrounding area. I concluded my trip back to the upper car park via a simple descent through the forest where a clear path is provided for your convienence. Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/114/comment/988/
