COMMENTS for Fir Mountain 1 of 1
MountainViews.ie Picture about mountain Fir Mountain in area Sperrin Mountains, Ireland
Picture: Looking to-wards Fir Mt from the NW.
An isolated little top.
Short Summary created by Harry Goodman,  25 Aug 2015
Take the B162 NW out of Cookstown and at H7840583322 A take a road on the left (Ballynagilly Road). Follow it along for some 4 km to pass a tree plantation on the right, part of Davagh Forest. Just beyond the Plantation park, with care, at the roadside beyond a metal gate H7447784666 B. Cross the gate and make directly for the top, keeping to the left of an obvious knoll on the slope ahead. Cross a wooden gate into the next field to gain the high point of the hill just beyond a high barbed wire fence at H7471885393 C.
There are nice views down over L Fea and Slieve Gallion, E to L Neagh, NNW to the higher Sperrins and S to the distant line of Cuilcagh. Up and back 1.7km, easily walked in less than 30 minutes. Trackback: http://mountainviews.ie/summit/1089/comment/15333/
