Low, easily reached, with good views.
by simon3  16 Aug 2011 This top lacks prominence and is situated in the middle of a high plateau surrounded by much more interesting places. A bit like Lough Curra Mtn in the Galtees only wilder. Bar some sheep farmers only summiteers are going to be visiting it, so let's mention appropriate virtues: it can be picked up if you are crossing the valley to more interesting tops. It is well positioned for some great views such as the picture here where tops Beenbo (left) and Beenator frame a view of Brandon Bay.

by three5four0  1 Oct 2009 See Beenbo for the last section of this walk.

Cnoc na Banoge North N Top is on the middle of a mini ridge in the middle of some rough bog. Interestingly on our way here from Beenbo, we spotted several Way Marked Way marker posts for a walking trail, spacing a bit far apart for comfort in foul weather in the middle of a bog though!

From here we descended to the col between the summit and point 383, before gradually descending to met the Garrivagh River, following the river to the track and back down to the car park.

All in all a fine walk, with good views and evidence of transhumance thrown in as well. To quench our thirst and appetites we headed first to the South Pole Inn for food (which also stocks London Pride bottled Ale!). Then to Hanafin's bar, where the local walkers hang out for some Guinness and chat, recommended indeed.
