New Comment Bluebells and birdsong
by acorn  7 May 2013 A very easy "climb" along trails and steps from Lough Hyne car park close to Baltimore. Lovely mixed forestry and lots of bluebells, violets, celandine in full bloom. Great view of Lough Hyne and surrounds from the top but also from view points on the way up which makes it an interesting ascent. Ideal for a family outing.

Knockomenagh.... A nice summers walk
by sbender  15 Jan 2012 We 'climbed' this hill in June 2011. It's a very pleasant walk along paths and man made steps. This makes it very accessable.
From its summit the view is amazing... A fantastic panorama!
You can start the walk up from the knockomagh wood entrance (sign present), which is found across the road from the Lough Hyne shore, plenty of parking spaces available. You can go up and down or do a loop walk. It would even be ok with fit children.
The wood itself is special, because it has a large variety of broadleaf trees as well as coniferous species.
I would recommend googeling it to find out more details.
