Park in the carpark at R84440 69415 (388 mtrs), cross the road and head uphill and east for about 200 meters, the summit is at a track junction.

This hill above the town of Ballycastle is unnamed on OS maps, but is named named Knockaughaleeg on William Bald's map of 1830. It is located in the townland of Aghaleague. A cairn on the summit is called Seefin (from Ir. Suí Finn, 'Fionn's seat' Knockaghaleague is the 1020th highest summit in Ireland. Knockaghaleague is the second most easterly summit in the North Mayo area.

Ballycastle Hill

by sandman 19 Jul 2012 Travelling on the R314 from Killala to Ballycastle in the townland of Billoos turn left at G14315 33875 (Point A) do not be tempted to take the next junction. Room to park at G13235 33204 (Point B) beside track into felled forestry - follow the bog pass 20meters west of parking area to summit keeping left at G12002 34453 (Point C) where there is a very faint trace of a tract that will bring you to the summit ridge and to within 50 meters of summit. Although you will have noticed a large cairn on ridge the summit itself is non descript. Views are good app 50 meters from summit across to Downpatrick Head and over Ballycastle - good views also over to Nephin, Nephin Beg range and Slieve Carr
