I approached Crohaun from the obvious path to the north -- there's plenty of space for parking at the foot of the track that leads up to the radio mast. This mast and the effects of what appears to be rampant motorbike scrambling somewhat dent the appeal of Crohaun, but don't let that take away from the views. Dungarvan on the coast, the eastern Knockmealdowns, and of course the Comeraghs are all visible from the top. Unless you're trying to work in a circuit involving Farbreaga/Coumaraglin, there doesn't seem to be much alternative to the quick dash up from the road. The summit itself is adorned by a cross (erected in 1987) and a trig pillar, which has been painted blue. (Comment Rating 4.50)

This shot shows the approach to the summit (cross in extreme top right), and the extensive damage caused by motorbikes/scramblers. Unfortunately the gate at the base of the track, which gives access to the radio mast area and summit, does not appear to be locked. This means that pretty much anyone can take their motorbike for a blast up to the summit, with obvious consequences. (Comment Rating 4.50)
