New Ordnance Survey map.
Context of comment:Take a look at the recently added Ordnance Survey mapping.
Select Set Area Map On in the summits page (apologies, Republic only so far) The map presented is a cut-down Ordnance Survey 1:50000. Unlike the full map it does not include height information such as spot heights, contours or hill shading. It also does not include Waymarked Ways

However it it useful because it allows you see the roads, lakes and rivers near the summits we feature. This will often include the access points.

The features of this map display are in development and suggestions are welcome. We would consider for example putting markers for grid references people mention in their comments onto the map.

Barranisky: Barniskea or Barniskey

Might be worth adding that Ballymoyle Hill might be more appropriate name for this height. Called that in Coillte records. Whilst Barranisky is spelt thus on OS six inch maps, note that Hall Nevil...

I think the highest point is likely about 175 metres in a WSW direction from the mast. I'm judging this from aerial photography and DTM which shows a rocky outcrop in a small forest clearing. DTM ...
