More on "sperrins most southerly missing"
Context of comment:Further on the Missing Sperrin!
Message:Thanks for the report. MountainViews member madfrankie took a look at this one and on the map it appears to have a prominence of 24 metres. As we have said before one of the main things we need to check is prominence. A 419m summit must have a prominence of at least 30m to be included in MV's current lists. Otherwise we would be including things that couldn't really be called hills. One trend in newer mountain lists is to require a prominence of at least 50m however MV has been sticking to 30m

Of course on the other hand if someone goes out and measures that Slieveard has a prominence of 30m, then we would include it.

An easy to access and navigate hill, well worth it for its central position and views in every direction. Park as previously suggested at L8530 4820 and head north east before swinging north. The ...

Though the road near L88003920 appears unfenced you will encounter a fence very soon after leaving the road. This fence extends along this back road, Bothar na Scrathóg and keeps cattle in typical...

Pleasantly surprised by this, could clearly see Lugnaquilla and Croaghanmoira, as well as numerous other summits, slightly awkward entry into the fields just west of the forest which don't appear ...
