Fixing a camera
I have a Nikon Coolpix S4. We have had our disagreements but they always blew over. On a recent hike from Glenmalure to Lug and back my poor camera endured hours of rain. It was mostly tucked away in my rucksack but still suffered a lot of water damage. It has now given up the ghost. I dried it in the hotpress for a week which brought it briefly back to life. Since then it has ceased working, although the power light comes on when batteries are inserted. Once or twice it has even worked for a few moments. I know that many MV members are fine photographers and appear technically minded, so I'm hoping that a straightforward method of repair might be suggested. I include a photo of the camera to aid in diagnosis. With your help I can stop using my phone camera for posting pics on MV!

This summit, at least on the approach from Glenbeg Lough, is characterised by the number of false summits that emerge as you gain height.
