Re. Wicklore
The Mournes is a shocking place when it comes to people abandoning their rubbish after a night on the sauce. They just seem to go up, drink all night and abandon their gear and rubbish in the morning. Today with the Mourne Youth Rangers we did a campsite clean up in the woods at Happy Valley, one of the worst places for this sort of activity. The state the place was in was a disgrace. We filled over 15 black bin liner bags full of beer bottles and cans, destroyed tents and equipment, wrappers, blankets, clothes and about 6 pairs of Y's believe it or not! Actually a lady from BBC Radio Ulster recorded us cleaning the place up and of course we had to speak about the Youth Rangers. Tune in to BBC Radio Ulster this Saturday for our interview on "Your Place and Mine". Anyway, back to the subject! I don't know exactly what other methods there are of combating this selfish behaviour, trying to educate them doesn't seem to work.
